Reinier is responsible for extracting various biometric data such as,
blood oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, heart rate, heart rate variability as well as specific sleep stages using advanced mathematics, algorithmic methods and machine learning. Reinier holds a PhD in Applied Physics and has previously worked on developing and improving algorithms to derive health metrics as well as screening tools for heart conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy from photoplethysmography signals obtained from a wrist-worn wearable device.
In his spare time, Reinier likes to go trail running or road cycling, going to concerts and playing guitar and piano.
Reinier is certified in both scuba diving and skydiving and has done 12 jumps so far.
